COCA-COLA IS INVENTED

Pharmacist Dr. John Pemberton invents Coca-Cola, marking the beginning of a new flavour option at soda fountains. The fountains became a social spot for locals. Soda Jerks would put on a show of sorts as they mixed the syrup with carbonated water for thirsty patrons.

CUBA LIBRE INVENTED


A “Rum and Coke” began life as the Cuba Libre, which dates to Havana around 1900, after the Spanish-American war.

COCA-COLA & JACK DANIELS FIRST MIXED


The popular whiskey-Cola combination “Jack and Coke” dates back to 1907, when soldiers were recorded drinking “Coca-Cola Highballs.” Jack and Coke, shorthand for Jack Daniel’s Tennessee whiskey and Coca-Cola.

Coca-Cola is listed as a refreshing mixer for cocktails.

ANDREW SISTERS RECORD “RUM AND COCA-COLA”



The song became a hit in 1945 for the Andrews Sisters, spending 10 weeks at the top of the billboard pop singles chart. No matter the lyrics of the song, people all over the world could easily hear that Coca-Cola goes well with rum.
